Undergraduate Student Research Assistant
Parshwa has been working in Dr. Sankha Banerjee's research group on the project titled, “Development of a smart water pre-treatment system for controlled environment agriculture using micro-plasma and nanomaterial-based filtration stacks”. He created a scalable device for remote monitoring and sample collection in a plasma and nanofiltration water treatment system. The system integrates activated carbon, graphene nanoplatelets, and MXene-based composites into a multifunctional nanofiltration matrix, which will be enhanced with electrodialysis for efficient ionic separation and nutrient recovery. This approach of using electroactive materials alongside nanofiltration and non-thermal plasma, shows significant promise for addressing complex water purification challenges, including the removal of persistent organic pollutants. Parshwa is currently the Vice President of Materials Research Society of Fresno State.
