Nuria Ferreira

Nuria is an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Kisekka’s lab at UC Davis, where she contributes to projects focused on sustainable water and soil management. She is currently involved in a soil microbiome project using DNA sequencing to assess soil health differences. Her research background includes working with native and nonnative plants to establish safe buffer zones between urban areas and natural ecosystems at UC Irvine. Additionally, Nuria has conducted field research in Costa Rica, assessing water quality variations between urbanized, touristic, and rural regions. She is planning to specialize in soil science, with aspirations to pursue a master’s degree beginning in Fall 2025.
