Baibaswata Bhaduri is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in LAWR UC Davis, and his primary interest is modelling flow and solute transport in groundwater systems. Under the mentorship of Prof. Thomas Harter, he is looking into the validation and implementation of NPSAT, starting with Central Valley (CV) and Salinas Valley, California, but later moving on to Pinal County (Arizona), Lower Rio Grande (New Mexico), Ogallala, Lower Mississippi and CONUS. He is also looking into the contrasting N Leaching estimates of CV-GNLM and CV-SWAT and aiming to develop a consistent framework to address discrepancies between data sources and contrarieties between approaches used to model Central Valley leaching. Prior to joining UC Davis, he completed his PhD in Indian Institute of Science, where he built and adapted different numerical frameworks to determine the nitrate transit times of anthropogenically influenced fractured hard rock aquifers both in peninsular India and French Brittany.
